Job summary

Salesforce is seeking engineers to architect, implement, deliver, and operate monitoring and analytics services at massive scale in the public cloud. You will own big portions of the telemetry stack from agents to backend systems, ensuring high availability and fast queries for multiple development teams.

You will work with engineering, product, and design to create user-centric experiences that strengthen Salesforce’s brand and deliver reliable, observable services.

Qualifications

• B.S./M.S. in Computer Science or equivalent field.
• Experience building highly scalable, available and real-time data management services.
• Experience with server-side Java or equivalent applications in Linux/UNIX.
• Proficiency in Python, Perl, Ruby, Go, Scala to adapt as needed.
• Worked with time series DBs, metric collection frameworks, and data streaming using Kafka, OpenTSDB, ElasticSearch, Splunk.
• Some experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., Oracle, HBase).
• Good understanding of AWS technologies and operations.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and proactive problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and deploy features to enhance observability services for Salesforce teams.
• Monitor services and take proactive action during incidents to ensure reliability.
• Engage with customers to understand requirements and address issues promptly.
• Collaborate with engineering and product leadership to evolve the roadmap and participate in release planning.
• Automate manual procedures and move code to configurations to reduce toil and boost productivity.
