Block, Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for Ledgering who will design and operate the systems of record for balances and transactions across Block’s platforms.

You will build settlement orchestration, automate treasury processes, and enable partner teams with reliable APIs at scale. You will contribute to architecture, drive complex projects, mentor engineers, and work across product, finance, and treasury to ship new capabilities in a high-reliability environment.

Qualifications

• Design and operate distributed, high-throughput services with strong consistency and failure handling.
• Experience with money-movement systems such as ledgers, settlement, or treasury.
• Proficiency in Java, Kotlin, or Go and strong SQL.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate balance and transaction systems of record for millions of merchants and customers.
• Build settlement orchestration for payments and deposits.
• Develop self-serve ledgering APIs with durable semantics and clear contracts.
