Job summary

Affirm is seeking a senior software engineer to drive technical strategy and lead end-to-end design of large-scale, high-availability services. You will build robust APIs and data models for micro-service architectures, collaborate across Product, Analytics, Design, Legal, and Accounting, and mentor junior engineers to promote best practices.

The role is remote-first within the USA with potential in-person onboarding.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in software development or engineering with system design/architecture expertise.
• Motivated leader who fosters team growth and continuous learning.
• Excellent communicator capable of conveying complex ideas to diverse audiences.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a solution-oriented mindset.
• Proficiency in Python, Kotlin, or similar languages.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Knowledge of database systems (SQL, NoSQL), web frameworks, and RESTful API development.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in a related field.

Responsibilities

• Drive technical strategy by planning, prioritizing, and executing projects aligned with product and business goals.
• Lead end-to-end system design of large-scale, high-availability services with robust APIs and data models.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements for card loan attribution and lifecycle strategy.
