Job summary

Yahoo seeks a highly skilled Senior Software Development Engineer to join the Developer Experience team, owning Yahoo’s enterprise Node.js environment, runtimes, and CI/CD pipelines. You will improve automation, testing, and maintainability, while integrating AI tools to boost productivity across engineering teams.

Responsibilities include managing releases, dependency updates, and platform security, plus collaborating with security, OS, and container teams on migrations and internal-library

Qualifications

• Strong software development skills in Node.js and JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience with shared developer platforms and runtime environments.
• Solid Linux, container, and CI/CD experience, including release automation.
• Familiarity with Git, GitHub, GitLab and modern source code practices.
• Experience using AI tools like Claude/Cursor/GitHub Copilot in development.

Responsibilities

• Own Yahoo’s Node.js runtimes lifecycle, releases, and end-of-life retirements.
• Build and maintain Node.js packages, images, and internal-library integrations.
• Develop and support reusable CI/CD and GitHub Actions workflows.
• Monitor releases, security updates, and dependencies to update platforms.
• Troubleshoot runtime, build, packaging, container, and dependency issues.
• Automate maintenance, testing, and release validation tasks.
• Collaborate with security, OS, container, and CI/CD teams on migrations.
• Support Yahoo Enterprise GitHub/GitLab services and tooling.
• Leverage Claude AI, Cursor, and Copilot to boost productivity.
