Job summary

Yahoo is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer to join the Developer Experience team and own Yahoo's enterprise Node.js runtimes, containers, and CI/CD pipelines. You will enhance tooling, automation, testing, and documentation to make developer workflows reliable and scalable.

You will work across security, OS, container, and application teams, using AI tooling to improve productivity and developer experience, while ensuring secure, maintainable releases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• Strong Node.js and JavaScript/TypeScript skills.
• Experience with Linux, containers, and CI/CD.
• Familiarity with Git/GitHub/GitLab.
• Experience releasing software and managing dependencies.

Responsibilities

• Own lifecycle of Node.js runtimes and releases.
• Build and maintain Node.js packages, container images, and pipelines.
• Develop reusable CI/CD and GitHub Actions workflows.
• Monitor upstream releases and security updates.
• Troubleshoot runtime, build, packaging, and dependency issues.
• Automate maintenance and release validation.
• Collaborate with security, OS, container, CI/CD teams.
• Support GitHub Enterprise and GitLab Enterprise services.
• Leverage AI tools to improve productivity.
• Document platform operations and communicate releases.
