Job summary

Yahoo is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer to join the Developer Experience team. You will own Yahoo's enterprise Node.js runtimes, maintain packages, container images, and automated release pipelines while ensuring security and reliability.

You will work with AI tooling and internal library integrations to improve engineering productivity and automation, and you will document changes and guide teams through migrations and deprecations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• Strong Node.js/JavaScript/TypeScript development experience.
• Experience with shared developer platforms and runtimes.
• Familiarity with Linux, containers, and CI/CD tooling.

Responsibilities

• Own Node.js runtimes lifecycle, including releases and end-of-life management.
• Build and maintain Node.js packages, container images, and internal-library integrations.
• Develop and support reusable CI/CD and GitHub Actions pipelines for Node.js apps and libraries.
• Monitor upstream releases and security updates, translating into platform updates.
• Troubleshoot runtime, build, packaging, container, and dependency issues for engineering teams.
• Automate platform maintenance, testing, and release validation tasks.
• Collaborate with security, OS, container, and CI/CD teams on platform changes.
• Support GitHub Enterprise and GitLab Enterprise services and improve source code management tooling.
• Leverage AI tools like Claude, Cursor, and Copilot to boost productivity and automation.
• Document platform operations and communicate releases and migrations clearly to users.
