Job summary

Yahoo is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer to own Yahoo's enterprise Node.js runtimes, packages, and CI/CD workflows. You will improve automation, testing, documentation, and long-term maintainability across developer platforms.

You will collaborate across teams on security, migrations, and tooling while using AI programming tools to boost productivity and ensure a secure, scalable code environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.
• Strong Node.js and JavaScript/TypeScript development skills.
• Experience with Linux, containers, and CI/CD tooling.
• Familiarity with Git, GitHub, and GitLab in modern workflows.
• Ability to use AI programming tools in development and automation.

Responsibilities

• Own Yahoo's Node.js runtimes lifecycle, releases, and deprecations.
• Build and maintain Node.js packages, images, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Develop reusable CI/CD and GitHub Actions workflows for apps/libraries.
• Monitor security updates and dependency changes; implement platform updates.
• Troubleshoot runtime, packaging, container, and deployment issues.
• Automate platform maintenance and testing tasks.
• Collaborate with security, OS, container, and application teams on migrations.
• Support GitHub Enterprise and GitLab Enterprise services; improve SCM tooling.
• Leverage Claude AI, Cursor, and GitHub Copilot to boost productivity.
• Document platform operations and communicate releases clearly.
