JD Power is seeking a senior software engineer to join the Research & Insights engineering team, working on solutions that power research and deliver customer insights. You will collaborate across teams to translate business problems into technical solutions and design, code, and review software from specs while upholding quality and security.

The role emphasizes stakeholder collaboration, code reviews, and mentoring junior engineers, with a remote-friendly setup across North America and Canada.

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 6+ years of full-stack software development with frontend and backend experience.
• Strong proficiency in Angular, TypeScript, Node.js, Python, and REST API design.
• Proficiency with relational and non-relational database design and development.
• Experience working as a member of an Agile/Scrum team.
• Experience with Git and Git-based CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience writing incremental unit tests and applying coding best practices.
• Ability to develop deep domain knowledge in industry-specific business rules and processes.
• Proficient with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code) and able to judge when to accept, edit, or reject generated output.
• Self-directed and detail-oriented, able to take ownership of work from requirements through release.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills, comfortable working across technical and business stakeholders.

Responsabilidades

• Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to translate business problems into technical solutions.
• Design and code software from business and technical specifications, while maintaining quality, security, and adherence to team standards.
• Perform code reviews to ensure quality, proactively identify defects, and recommend improvements.
• Investigate and resolve complex and potentially time-sensitive technical issues for supported applications.
• Contribute to the creation of technical and end-user product documentation, and design artifacts.
• Enforce engineering best practices and proactively identify security vulnerabilities.
• Use AI to accelerate design, development, and documentation while ensuring quality through careful review of generated code and assets.
• Mentor junior engineers on new technologies, processes, and industry domain knowledge.
