Job summary

JD Power is seeking a Software Developer II to contribute across the software development lifecycle. You will design and implement software, perform tests, and ensure quality while collaborating with stakeholders and the team lead to follow best practices.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in Java or .NET, experience with servers, GitLab, Maven/Jenkins, and both relational and non-relational databases. This remote Canada-based role reports to the Engineering Manager.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2+ years of software development experience with languages such as Java or .NET.
• Experience with application servers, web servers (e.g., Apache HTTP Server, NGINX), and version control systems (GitLab).
• Experience with build and continuous integration tools (e.g., Maven, Jenkins, GitLab CICD).
• Experience with relational and non-relational database design and development.

Responsibilities

• Design and code software applications based on business and technical specifications.
• Develop and execute unit, component, and integration tests to verify requirements are met.
• Adhere to established coding standards and test coverage targets to ensure product quality.
• Perform code reviews to ensure quality, proactively identify defects, and recommend improvements.
• Contribute to technical and end-user documentation.
• Investigate and resolve technical issues for assigned projects.
