Job summary

JD Power is seeking a Software Developer IV for a remote Canada-based role. You will drive all phases of software development, collaborating with business stakeholders and the team to design, implement, test, and release software with AI-assisted approaches.

You will mentor peers, enforce quality standards, and ensure secure, maintainable code across the SDLC. The role requires 10+ years of full-stack experience, strong TypeScript/React or Angular skills, and deep API/database know-how.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ years of full-stack development with frontend and backend.
• Advanced proficiency in TypeScript, HTML, CSS/SCSS, Node.js, REST API design, and SQL-based querying.
• Advanced proficiency in either Angular or React, with working knowledge of the other.
• Experience writing incremental unit tests and applying coding best practices.
• Experience with relational and non-relational database design and development.
• Proficient with AI-assisted development tools (Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code) and able to judge when to accept, edit, or reject generated output.

Responsibilities

• Develop a detailed technical understanding of client needs and project requirements.
• Create, prioritize, assign, and monitor all software development tasks for assigned projects.
• Lead and coordinate day-to-day execution for Engineering team members.
• Be the primary point of contact for project team status updates.
• Design and code software applications from business and technical specifications, leveraging AI-assisted tools to accelerate delivery.
• Develop and execute unit, component, and integration tests with AI assistance to expand coverage.
