Job summary

JD Power is seeking a Senior Manager, Engineering - AI & Innovation to lead a NA-focused, remote-first AI & Innovation function. You will own people leadership, the team roadmap, and outcomes, guiding PoC velocity, agent workforce metrics, and enterprise AI standards.

You will partner with VP Architecture and cross-org leaders to translate AI strategy into executable roadmaps, drive governance, and deliver measurable impact while ensuring engineering time is optimized.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with a demonstrated track record of directly managing engineers.
• Experience standing up, scaling, or leading an AI/ML, platform, or innovation-focused engineering function.
• Track record partnering with VP or executive-level leaders to translate strategy into an executable roadmap.
• Experience owning delivery metrics and KPIs and reporting them credibly to senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Hire, manage, coach, and grow the AI & Innovation function; own performance management, career development, and org design decisions as the team scales.
• Own the team roadmap: translate enterprise AI strategy into quarterly roadmap for Innovation Crew and Launch Lab; make trade-off calls when demand exceeds capacity.
• Own the operating cadence end to end: final approver on intake process and escalation point for pilots to protect engineering time.
• Own the DevOps & AppSec and Cloud Engineering partnerships to ensure CI/CD, infrastructure, and application security needs are met without bottlenecks.
• Own metrics and executive reporting: report PoC velocity, Power Agents adoption, engineering hours saved, and AI Standards compliance to leadership.
• Own the AI agent workforce lifecycle: onboarding, performance tracking, adoption growth, and lifecycle management.
• Own cross-org relationships with peer clusters, Product, and business unit leaders; manage scope boundaries for OEM Solutions and geography.
