Job summary

Husch Blackwell LLP is seeking a Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain robust web applications and data systems. The role focuses on architecture, performance, and reliability, with opportunities to prototype XR and AI-enabled interfaces.

Remote and hybrid work options are available, with consideration for Mountain Time candidates. The position requires 5+ years in application engineering or related technical fields, strong backend and API skills, and experience with AI integrations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in application engineering or related technical role with progression toward senior ownership.
• Proficiency across full web stack; back-end data APIs and infrastructure focus; UI collaboration.
• Experience designing and owning web app architecture for data-intensive apps.
• Proficiency in Python or JavaScript/TypeScript and familiarity with front-end frameworks.
• Experience integrating generative AI into production apps; working with LLM APIs.
• Knowledge of data pipelines, data APIs, and cloud data platform integration.
• Cloud infra and deployment practices, CI/CD, security awareness.

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and maintain web app infrastructure and data systems for interactive experiences.
• Own application standards, code quality, deployment practices, performance benchmarks.
• Collaborate with information engineers, designers, and data scientists on data stories and UI.
• Write production-grade code across full stack with emphasis on backend services and APIs.
• Lead evaluation and deployment of generative AI capabilities in applications.
• Prototype architectures for XR and AI-assisted user experiences.
• Ensure reliability, security, accessibility, and scalability of ID&E systems.
• Research new technologies and establish technical standards for engineering.
