Job summary

Waymo LLC seeks an experienced Senior SMS Analytics Specialist to design and refine safety performance metrics and reporting. You will synthesize data across domains, support executive governance, and translate trends into actionable recommendations for senior leaders.

You will partner with data science, operations, and safety teams to ensure accountability, measurable improvements, and readiness for audits while scaling analytics tooling for reliability and growth.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in data analytics, safety or performance measurement within complex engineering or safety-critical organizations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, CS, Engineering, Economics, Statistics, or a related field.
• Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) preferred.
• Experience with SQL, Python or R, BI dashboards, and data pipelines.
• Ability to translate complex signals into executive-friendly narratives.

Responsibilities

• Develop metrics for SMS performance and governance reports.
• Synthesize multi-domain safety metrics and map to safety objectives.
• Lead governance processes for executive reviews and action tracking.
• Collaborate across teams to ensure accountability and measurable improvements.
• Prepare decision-ready briefings, dashboards, and recommendations.
