Job summary

Waymo LLC is seeking a Senior Program Manager for System Safety to lead end-to-end safety planning, roadmapping, and OKR alignment with product launches across Onboard SW, Systems Engineering, Hardware, Ops Safety, and Product teams.

You will report to the Head of System Safety and coordinate with executives to translate vehicle goals into actionable safety deliverables, while ensuring compliance with safety standards and risk management practices across multiple vehicle platforms.

Qualifications

• Safety engineering in safety-critical domains.
• Experience applying safety standards (ISO 26262, MIL-STD-882).
• Proven cross-functional program management experience.
• Ability to translate vehicle goals into safety deliverables.
• Experience with safety case development and risk assessments.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end program planning and roadmapping for System Safety across multiple teams.
• Spearhead safety workstreams for new programs in Onboard SW, Systems Engineering, Hardware, Ops Safety, and Product.
• Define Safety Baseline and Delta approaches for product expansions.
• Track safety readiness across vehicle platforms and drive issue resolution.
• Standardize safety processes and develop automated dashboards (Jira/TaskFlow).
• Interface with executives, Product Management, and Fleet Operations to summarize risk.
