Job summary

Waymo LLC is seeking a Senior Safety Management System (SMS) Risk Integration Specialist to advance how Waymo manages safety risk across technology, operations, and organization. You will partner with cross-functional teams to assess risk practices, solve workflow pain points, and define requirements for risk tools that track hazards from identification through mitigation.

The role reports to the SMS Risk Management function and follows a hybrid work schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, CS, Systems Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in System Safety, Functional Safety or Safety Risk Management.
• Knowledge of hazard analysis methodologies (FMEA/DFMEA, FTA, HAZOP, etc.) and safety standards (ISO 26262, SOTIF, MIL-STD-882).
• Ability to translate safety/workflows into clear business requirements and data models.

Responsibilities

• Create Enterprise Risk Integration Processes to unify safety risk information.
• Define requirements for enterprise risk tooling and collaborate with tooling teams.
• Establish end-to-end traceability for risk treatments and mitigations.
• Evaluate regulatory impact and drive compliance roadmaps.
• Diagnose process inefficiencies and align stakeholders on solutions.
• Develop risk dashboards and executive summaries for governance.
