Job summary

Waymo LLC in the United States seeks a Senior SMS Analytics Specialist to lead how the company measures and reports the performance of its Safety Management System. You will design and refine metrics, synthesize data across domains, and craft executive-ready dashboards and actionable insights.

The role is hybrid, based in San Francisco or Mountain View, with travel to support audits and cross-functional workshops.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in data science, computer science, engineering, economics, statistics, or related field.
5+ years of experience in data analytics, safety/operational performance, or business/technical intelligence.
Experience with quantitative and qualitative metrics, benchmarking, and metric interpretation.
Proficiency with SQL, Python/R, BI dashboards, and data pipelines to communicate performance data.
Ability to synthesize disparate metrics to drive continual improvement.

Responsibilities

Design SMS implementation, maturity, and effectiveness metrics grounded in best practices.
Collect, quality-assure, and synthesize metrics across multiple functions.
Lead governance for SMS performance reporting to executives.
Translate multi-source data into decision briefs, dashboards, and improvement recommendations.
Monitor indicators, assign owners, and track actions to closure and effectiveness.
Define data collection and reporting tool requirements to support audits.
