Job summary

Cisco Systems is seeking an Operation Solutions Engineer - SLED in a hybrid Chicago-based role serving IL, CO, WA, and other states. You will be a technical pre-sales advisor, engaging with state and local government accounts to shape solutions and drive outcomes.

You will lead executive engagements, run field events, and collaborate with account teams and product groups to influence portfolios while developing deep customer relationships across a broad Cisco portfolio including routing,

Qualifications

• 10+ years industry experience, significant pre-sales experience.
• Deep knowledge across Cisco’s Route/Switch and Security portfolio and competitive offerings.
• Proven track record leading strategic multi-architecture sales cycles, competitive takeouts, franchise wins, and driving innovation.
• Operation/Area support from Senior Leadership (INTERNAL applicants).
• CCNP or similar competitive certification.

Responsibilities

• Act as trusted pre-sales adviser to SLED Account Teams and customers.
• Lead engagements through Tech Days, Cisco Live, and executive discussions.
• Build executive relationships and champion strategic tech initiatives.
• Collaborate with Account, Connected and Product teams to influence Cisco portfolios.
• Drive pipeline growth and modernization opportunities in the field.
