Job summary

Cisco Systems, Inc. is seeking a Solutions Engineer for the SLED - North Star Operation in the Chicago area. The role focuses on pre-sales technical engagement, influencing strategic outcomes, and maintaining executive-level customer intimacy across a 14-state geography.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years of industry experience, deep Cisco routing/switching and security knowledge, and CCNP or equivalent certification. Travel up to 75% may be required.

Qualifications

10+ years industry experience with pre-sales solutions engineering.
Deep knowledge of Cisco's Route/Switch and Security portfolios.
Proven track record leading multi-architecture sales cycles and driving innovation.
CCNP or similar competitive certification.
Willingness to travel 50-75% of the time.

Responsibilities

Technical, trusted advisor to SLED Account Teams and Customers.
Bring thought leadership and deep technical knowledge across Cisco solutions and architectures.
Lead/participate in high-impact customer engagements and events (Tech Days, Cisco Experience Center, Executive Discussions).
Develop executive relationships and champion strategic technical initiatives.
Represent USPS/SLED feedback to shape portfolio offerings.
