Job summary

Fivetran is seeking a dedicated dbt community team member to lead our global Slack community initiatives. You will manage day-to-day operations, ensure a welcoming high-signal space, and partner with internal teams to shape engagement programming.

You will develop scalable moderation processes, onboard new moderators, and surface actionable insights to improve member experience and retention across regions and time zones.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of digital community management or similar.
• Experience owning day-to-day operations for large online communities (Slack/Discord/forum).
• Strong understanding of online community dynamics and trust-building at scale.
• Experience building/modifying moderation workflows with Code of Conduct enforcement.
• Excellent written communication and facilitation; empathetic and de-escalating.
• Familiarity with community tooling and analytics to track engagement and trends.
• Data-informed decision making with KPIs for engagement and health.
• Cross-functional collaboration with Product, Marketing, Support, and Developer Experience.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day operations of the dbt Slack community and member experience.
• Partner with community leaders and internal stakeholders on strategy and engagement programs.
• Develop and maintain scalable moderation and support workflows including Code of Conduct enforcement.
• Coach moderators and recruit/onboard new moderators as the community grows.
• Create content systems for announcements, highlights, prompts, and storytelling.
• Surface insights to Product, Marketing, and Support; close loop with outcomes.
• Monitor engagement metrics and run experiments to improve them.
• Manage the community tool stack and document best practices.
• Plan for incident response with Legal/People/Security as needed.
• Support cross-channel engagement beyond Slack to create a cohesive member journey.
