Job summary

Fivetran seeks a dedicated Senior Community Manager to lead the dbt community on Slack, growing a welcoming, high-signal space for data practitioners worldwide. You will partner with internal stakeholders to evolve guidelines, engagement programs, and content systems, driving participation and surfacing insights to product and marketing teams.

This role focuses on day-to-day operations, moderation, moderators coaching, and cross-channel engagement to build a strong, trusted community experience

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in digital community management, online engagement, or community program management in a global or distributed environment.
• Proven track record owning day-to-day operations for a large online community (Slack/Discord/forum).
• Strong understanding of community dynamics, trust-building, and belonging at scale.
• Experience building moderation/support workflows and code of conduct enforcement.
• Excellent written communication and facilitation, with empathetic responses.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day operations of the dbt Slack community for a global audience.
• Collaborate with internal teams to evolve channel strategy and engagement programming.
• Develop scalable moderation workflows, triage, escalation paths, and playbooks.
• Coach moderators, recruit and onboard new moderators as the community grows.
• Create content systems for announcements, highlights, prompts, and storytelling.
• Surface insights to Product, Marketing, and Support and close the loop on outcomes.
• Monitor engagement metrics and run experiments to improve health and activation.
• Manage the community tool stack and document best practices.
• Plan for incident response with Legal/People/Security as needed.
• Support cross-channel engagement to create a cohesive member journey.
