Job summary

The State of Alaska's Department of Health is seeking a Senior Services Technician in Anchorage to support the General Relief/Central Applications Processing Unit. The role focuses on evaluating and authorizing eligibility for assisted living placements, helping ensure timely access to benefits for seniors and individuals with disabilities.

Qualifications

• High school graduation or equivalent.
• Three years of clerical experience with one year of experience in public health, health care services, senior services, medical assistance programs, health education, nursing, medical social work, health services administration or a closely related field.
• College education from an accredited college with a course emphasis in social services or a related field may substitute for the required experience.

Responsibilities

• Receive and process applications for financial assistance for assisted living placements through General Relief Assisted Living Home Care Program to make accurate, timely eligibility determinations and benefit authorizations.
• Collaborate closely with service providers, consumers, and teammates to creatively problem-solve unique, case-by-case situations, while handling a mix of clerical and administrative duties that keep your days interesting and engaging.
• Hybrid remote work may be available for this position after completing a probationary period
