Job summary

Northern Trust seeks a senior ServiceNow Platform Architect focused on security to define and drive enterprise security architecture, standards and governance for the ServiceNow platform. You will collaborate with Identity Management, Cybersecurity, Risk, Platform Engineering and product teams to ensure secure, compliant, and scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• 15+ years IT experience with ServiceNow architecture, engineering or design
• 5+ years as a ServiceNow Architect in large enterprise with focus on platform security and administration
• Strong understanding of ServiceNow ACLs, roles, groups, and security best practices
• Experience integrating ServiceNow with identity providers using SAML, OAuth, SCIM, LDAP
• Experience in cybersecurity including risk assessments, audits, or vulnerability management
• Knowledge of ITSM/ITIL, security, privacy, risk, and enterprise technology practices
• Strong communication and influencing skills across technology and business stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain ServiceNow platform security architecture, standards and guardrails
• Establish governance over platform access, security configurations, integrations, and customizations
• Provide security architecture assessment for new capabilities, plugins and major designs
• Define standards for identity management, SSO, MFA, RBAC and privileged access
• Drive least privilege, SoD, role rationalization and periodic access reviews
• Oversee for SAML, OAuth, SCIM, LDAP identity patterns
• Establish security controls for admin, service, and integration accounts
• Define secure patterns for REST/SOAP APIs, IntegrationHub, MID Servers and certificates
• Establish secure development standards for JavaScript, Glide APIs, Business Rules and APIs
• Monitor privileged activity, authentication, integration identities and service accounts
• Support vulnerability assessments, security reviews and platform hardening
• Evaluate security implications of upgrades, patches and releases
• Support audits and regulatory assessments
• Provide guidance to Platform Architects, Engineering Leads and developers
