Job summary

State of Ohio Computer Center (SOCC) seeks a Senior ServiceNow Developer to design, develop, and support secure ServiceNow solutions within a FedRAMP environment. This on-site role requires five+ years of hands-on ServiceNow experience, strong collaboration skills, and adherence to enterprise SDLC practices.

Responsibilities include leading development efforts, conducting code reviews, and mentoring other developers while ensuring platform stability and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

Job description

One of our clients in the government domain is seeking a Senior ServiceNow Developer (Programmer 5) to join the DAS OIT Enterprise Service Management team. This role designs, develops, and supports secure, compliant, and scalable ServiceNow solutions within a FedRAMP-authorized environment. The position requires advanced development expertise, strong platform knowledge, disciplined SDLC practices, and close collaboration with architects, project managers, business stakeholders, and cross-functional technical teams. This is a full - time , on - site position at the State of Ohio Computer Center (SOCC) , Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM . Remote and hybrid work are not available. To meet contractual and ServiceNow FedRAMP regulatory requirements, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or valid Green Card holder .

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, implement, and enhance ServiceNow applications, integrations, and custom solutions in line with DAS OIT and enterprise standards.
• Write secure, scalable, high-quality code that follows development best practices and FedRAMP compliance guidelines.
• Lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for platform defects, performance issues, and complex technical problems.
• Partner with architects and cross-functional teams to refine requirements, assess design options, and align solutions with enterprise strategy.
• Conduct and participate in code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and maintain quality across the ESM development team.
• Support monthly releases, regression testing, user acceptance testing, and platform-stability activities in accordance with internal developer role expectations.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, including workflows, test scripts, requirements, and architectural artifacts.
• Mentor junior developers and delegated agency developers on best practices, development guardrails, and enterprise standards.
• Follow platform governance, security controls, and RACI-defined responsibilities for enterprise and agency development.
• Stay current with ServiceNow features, releases, and industry trends, and apply modern approaches to improve reliability and performance.
• Improve development processes, coding standards, and methodologies continuously.

Skills and Qualifications

• ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD), Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS), or a similar developer-adjacent or module-specific certification.
• At least five years of hands‑on ServiceNow development experience with Script Includes, Business Rules, Flow Designer, UI Policies, Client Scripts, API integrations, and scoped applications.
• Strong knowledge of secure development in regulated environments, including FedRAMP and GCC High.
• Experience supporting complex enterprise workflows, ServiceNow integrations, and release cycles.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

Work Location & Contract Requirements

• Work on‑site at SOCC, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM; no remote or hybrid option is available.
• Candidates must be U.S. citizens or valid Green Card holders.
• All work is performed within a FedRAMP‑regulated ServiceNow instance.
• The role supports ongoing enterprise initiatives, including release management, platform stability, ServiceNow integrations, and customer agency needs reflected in prior platform and integration work.
