Job summary

Jobgether is seeking a Senior Service Designer to lead human-centered design initiatives for federal government modernization projects. You will guide discovery and service design engagements, translating research into actionable strategies and collaborating with product, engineering, data, and research teams.

This is a fully remote role supporting US programs, with travel as needed. Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in service design or related fields, strong systems thinking, and experience

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience in service design, UX design, user research, or related discipline, including leadership of complex engagements.
• Strong command of service design methods, research techniques, systems thinking, and strategic problem solving.
• Proven track record delivering high-impact projects with measurable value for clients and end users.
• Ability to synthesize qualitative and quantitative insights and develop evidence-based recommendations.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management to influence senior stakeholders without formal authority.
• Experience collaborating with product, engineering, data, and research teams in agile environments.
• Strategic and business acumen linking design decisions to client outcomes and growth.
• Demonstrated ability to apply responsible AI-enabled approaches to improve productivity and service quality.
• Strong project and delivery management skills with the ability to navigate ambiguity.
• Leadership and accountability with a collaborative, inclusive approach.
• Curiosity and continuous learning about customer needs and evolving technologies.
• Preferred: experience supporting federal government agencies; familiarity with data science principles.
• Location and work authorization: must reside in eligible US states; U.S. citizenship required.
• Travel up to 10% for client engagements and events.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex, cross-functional service design engagements with high-quality, timely delivery.
• Apply mixed-method research to understand user needs and translate findings into insights and improvements.
• Map relationships between people, processes, technologies, and organizations for holistic design.
• Partner with product managers, engineers, data scientists, researchers to define problems and solutions.
• Build trusted client relationships and present service design recommendations.
• Identify risks and maintain quality aligned with objectives and stakeholder expectations.
• Explore responsible AI tools to accelerate discovery and improve services.
• Contribute to internal initiatives and share best practices to strengthen capabilities.
• Support proposals and new business opportunities by translating challenges into solutions.
• Establish design methodologies and foster inclusive, innovative ways of working.
