Job summary

Jobgether is seeking a Senior Service Designer to lead human-centered design initiatives for federal government programs from a fully remote US position. You will guide discovery, translate research into actionable strategies, and collaborate across product, engineering, data, and research teams to deliver measurable improvements.

This is a senior individual-contributor role focused on strategic design and responsible AI innovation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in service design, UX design, or a related discipline, including leadership of complex engagements.
• Strong command of service design methods, research and discovery techniques, systems thinking, and strategic problem-solving.
• Proven track record delivering high-impact projects that generate measurable value for clients and end users.
• Ability to synthesize qualitative and quantitative insights and develop evidence-based recommendations.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management; ability to influence senior stakeholders without formal authority.
• Experience collaborating with product, engineering, data, and research teams in agile or similar environments.
• Strategic and business acumen aligning design decisions with client outcomes and growth opportunities.
• Preferred: experience supporting federal government agencies; familiarity with data science principles.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex, cross-functional service design engagements with high-quality, timely delivery.
• Apply mixed-method research to understand user needs, processes, and technologies; translate findings into actionable insights.
• Map relationships between people, processes, technologies, and organizations to identify improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with product managers, engineers, data scientists, researchers to define problems and solutions.
• Engage clients, validate assumptions, present design recommendations and defend service design options.
• Identify and address delivery risks, dependencies, and ensure alignment with program objectives.
• Explore responsible AI-enabled approaches to accelerate discovery and improve outcomes.
• Contribute to internal initiatives and share emerging practices to strengthen service design capabilities.
• Support proposals and new business opportunities with service design insights.
