Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Structural Analysis Engineer to support advanced reactor system design through dynamic structural analysis, seismic evaluations, and engineering calculations. The role requires collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and adherence to industry codes.

The position is contract and remote from the United States. The ideal candidate has extensive experience with ANSYS, seismic methodologies, and complex assembly analyses, and may hold a PE license.

Qualifications

• Minimum 20 years of relevant engineering experience in structural analysis.
• At least 10 years of experience performing dynamic structural analysis.
• Proficiency with ANSYS for structural/dynamic analysis.
• PE license preferred.
• Experience with seismic analysis and transient methodologies.
• Ability to collaborate in multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform dynamic structural analyses (seismic, modal, response spectrum, transient) for advanced reactor systems.
• Assess interference and fit-up for complex assemblies.
• Size and specify PRVs per industry codes.
• Prepare engineering calculations and technical reports.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on design, qualification, and verification.
• Use ANSYS and similar tools to evaluate structural behavior.
• Ensure analyses comply with standards and regulatory requirements.
• Support design reviews by presenting methods and results.
• Contribute to improving analysis methodologies and best practices.
