Actalent is seeking a Structural Analysis Engineer to join our Knoxville-based contract team supporting advanced reactor systems. The role emphasizes dynamic structural analysis under seismic and transient loading, with rigorous engineering evaluations and documentation.

You will use ANSYS (and COMSOL as needed) to assess performance, develop calculations, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure design compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Formación

• Minimum 20 years of engineering experience in structural analysis or closely related disciplines.
• At least 10 years of dynamic structural analysis for complex mechanical or civil structures.
• Experience with seismic analysis including modal, response spectrum, and transient methods.
• PE license preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Perform dynamic structural analyses, including seismic, modal, response spectrum, and transient evaluations for advanced reactor systems and components.
• Conduct interference and fit-up assessments for complex assemblies and integrated systems.
• Perform PRV sizing and specification activities per industry codes and standards.
• Develop engineering calculations and technical reports to substantiate design decisions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support reactor system design and verification.
• Utilize ANSYS and similar tools to evaluate structural behavior and inform design optimization.
• Ensure analyses and recommendations comply with codes and regulatory requirements.
• Support design reviews by presenting methods, assumptions, and results.
