Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Structural Analysis Engineer in Phoenix, AZ, focusing on dynamic structural analyses for advanced reactor systems. The role emphasizes seismic and transient loading, PRV sizing, and detailed technical reporting. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and use ANSYS/COMSOL to drive design optimization.

The position is fully remote with expectations aligned to national remote work, and offers a broad pay range reflecting experience. A PE license is preferred; a B.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil, Structural Engineering or related field.
• PE license preferred.
• Experience with seismic and dynamic loading conditions.
• Familiarity with transient analysis methods and tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform dynamic structural analyses for advanced reactor systems and components.
• Conduct interference and fit-up assessments for complex assemblies.
• Perform PRV sizing and specification activities.
• Develop engineering calculations, technical reports, and supporting documentation.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support reactor system design, qualification, and verification.
• Utilize ANSYS and other simulation tools to evaluate structural behavior and inform design optimization.
• Ensure analyses and recommendations comply with relevant codes and regulatory requirements.
• Support design reviews by presenting methods, assumptions, and results.
