Job summary

Pearson is seeking a Senior Security Analyst to lead day-to-day SOC operations, drive continuous improvement, and advance detection engineering across Pearson’s environments. You will refine SOC processes, develop detection capabilities, and ensure alignment with Pearson’s security standards and regulatory requirements while supporting rapid incident response and on-call coverage.

Qualifications

• Experience in regulated environments or government clients.
• 4+ years in security operations, incident response, and detection engineering.
• Hands-on with SOAR, EDR, NDR, and SIEM technologies.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Strong multitasking and thrive in fast-paced environments.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute advanced SOC operations, including incident detection, triage, containment, and root cause analysis across Pearson environments with on-call coverage.
• Develop, implement, and optimize detection logic, playbooks, and automated response workflows to reduce mean time to containment.
• Continuously assess and enhance SOC processes and procedures, aligning with evolving threat landscapes.
• Collaborate with threat intelligence teams to analyze emerging risks and integrate relevant TTPs into SOC operations.
• Act as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders, translating technical findings into actionable insights.
• Ensure all SOC activities comply with standards (NCSC, Cyber Essentials Plus) and Pearson policies.
• Deliver executive-level reporting, risk assessments, and metrics.
