Job summary

Pearson is seeking a Senior Director of Security Operations to lead the SOC, drive improvements, and advance detection engineering across Pearson’s environments. This role requires rapid incident response, automation, and collaboration with internal and external partners to align with Pearson’s security standards.

Responsibilities include on-call 24x7 coverage, developing playbooks, and reporting metrics for executive leadership while ensuring compliance with relevant standards and policies.

Qualifications

• Experience in regulated environments or government clients.
• Hands-on expertise with SOC operations, incident response, and detection engineering.
• Ability to work with SOAR, EDR, NDR, and SIEM technologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day SOC operations including incident detection, triage, containment, and root cause analysis.
• Develop, implement, and optimize detection logic and automated response workflows.
• Continuously assess and improve SOC processes and collaborate with threat intel.
• Translate technical findings to non-technical stakeholders with clear reporting.
