Job summary

Pearson is seeking a Senior Director of Security Operations to lead the SOC, drive incident response, and advance detection engineering across Pearson’s environments.

This leadership role requires 24x7 on-call readiness, collaboration with threat intelligence, and governance to meet Pearson policies and regulatory standards. You will mentor teams, implement automation, and deliver executive-grade reporting and risk metrics.

Qualifications

• Experience in regulated environments or government clients.
• 4+ years in security operations, incident response, and detection engineering.
• Hands-on with SOAR, EDR, NDR, and SIEM technologies.
• Experience with cloud providers AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Strong multitasking and adaptability in fast-paced environments.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead advanced SOC operations including incident detection, triage, containment, and root-cause analysis.
• Develop detection logic, playbooks, and automated response workflows.
• Continuously assess and improve SOC processes and procedures.
• Collaborate with threat intelligence to analyze risks and integrate TTPs.
• Act as trusted advisor to internal stakeholders and translate findings clearly.
• Deliver executive-level reporting, risk assessments, and metrics.
