Job summary

Pearson seeks a Senior Director of Security Operations to lead the SOC, drive detection engineering, and advance incident response across Pearson environments. You will refine processes, build automated responses, and ensure alignment with Pearson security standards.

This role requires on-call coverage to support 24x7 operations and collaboration with internal and external partners. You will champion improvements in detection capabilities, oversee incident response, and report on security

Qualifications

• Experience working in regulated environments or government clients.
• 4+ years in security operations, incident response, and detection engineering.
• Hands-on experience with SOAR, EDR, NDR and SIEM technologies.
• Experience with Cloud Service Providers (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Strong multitasking and communication skills for stakeholder management and translating risk to non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day SOC operations and 24x7 coverage.
• Develop detection logic and automated response workflows to reduce MTTR.
• Continuously improve SOC processes and align with security standards.
• Collaborate with threat intel to integrate relevant TTPs into SOC operations.
• Deliver executive-level reporting, risk assessments, and metrics.
