Job summary

Pearson’s Security Operations Center seeks a Senior Director of Security Operations to lead day-to-day security operations, drive detection engineering, and advance automation across Pearson’s environments.

You will refine SOC processes, develop detection capabilities, and ensure alignment with Pearson’s security standards and regulatory requirements, while coordinating with internal and external partners on threat response and governance initiatives.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in security operations, incident response or detection engineering in regulated environments or goverment clients.
• Hands-on experience with SOAR, EDR, NDR and SIEM technologies.
• Experience with one or more cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and run advanced SOC operations including incident detection, triage, containment and root-cause analysis.
• Develop and optimize detection logic, playbooks and automated response workflows.
• Continuously improve SOC processes and align with evolving threat landscapes.
• Collaborate with threat intel teams to integrate TTPs into SOC operations.
• Provide executive-level reporting, risk assessments and metrics.
