Job summary

Affirm, Inc. is seeking a Senior Sales Engineer to join the Merchant Engineering team. You will partner with Sales, Engineering, and Product to design scalable, reliable checkout and payment solutions for enterprise merchants.

You will craft compelling technical narratives, lead solution architecture, and influence product direction while building trusted relationships with customers and internal teams. This role requires strong communication, multi-project management, and travel up to 30%.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in business or technology, or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years in sales engineering or related roles.
• 3+ years in payments/fintech industry.
• Strong API integration and SaaS platform knowledge.
• Experience with e-commerce checkout and payments.
• Ability to manage multiple projects with minimal guidance.
• Willing to travel up to 30%.

Responsibilities

• Serve as subject matter expert on Aff… integration solutions and merchant checkout processes.
• Architect end-to-end merchant solutions addressing challenges and tradeoffs.
• Build trust with internal and external stakeholders and enterprise merchants.
• Collaborate with sales and partner engineering to drive opportunities for large customers.
• Provide input to product management based on customer feedback.
• Create reusable assets and training materials to scale GTM.
• Support sales planning with technical risk assessment and scalable engagement models.
• Develop pre-sales materials and product demos as needed.
