Job summary

Amplitude is seeking a Senior Sales Engineer to serve as the technical quarterback for strategic opportunities. You will translate product capabilities into business outcomes for Product, Marketing, and Analytics leaders, and lead discovery, PoCs, and complex integrations across the data platform.

You’ll collaborate with Account Executives, Product Management, and Customer Success to map requirements, overcome objections, and inform roadmaps, while mentoring junior SEs and shaping reusable

Qualifications

• 5+ years in software pre‑sales (SE, Sales Consulting, or technical Account Management roles).
• Self‑starter who can discuss nuanced technical concepts (examples: Python, SQL, hyperscaler integrations, APIs, R).
• Hands‑on SQL: joins, aggregations, and window functions to analyze behavioral data.
• Track record of closing technical evaluations in competitive enterprise deals.
• Comfort presenting technical concepts to engineers and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical evaluation phases for deals ranging from 100K to 1M+ ARR.
• Design and execute hands‑on proofs‑of‑concepts that prove value in the prospect’s data and use cases.
• Present to C‑level executives and translate technical capabilities into ROI narratives.
• Partner with Product Management and Customer Success to align on requirements and handoffs.
• Mentor junior SEs on technical positioning and demo best practices.
