Job summary

Amplitude is seeking a Senior Sales Engineer to act as the technical quarterback for strategic opportunities, partnering with Account Executives to translate product capabilities into measurable business outcomes for Product, Marketing, and Analytics leaders.

You’ll own technical discovery, architect PoCs, and advise prospects on their data strategy, directly impacting the annual pipeline. Expect collaboration with Product Management and Customer Success to accelerate deals.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in software pre-sales (SE, Sales Consulting or technical AM)
• Ability to discuss nuanced technical concepts and self-learn (examples: Python, SQL, hyperscaler integrations, APIs, R)
• Hands-on SQL: joins, aggregations, window functions to analyze behavioral data
• Track record of closing technical evaluations in enterprise deals
• Comfort presenting technical concepts to engineers and business stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Lead technical evaluation phases for deals ranging from 100K to 1M+ ARR
• Design and run hands-on proof-of-concept implementations
• Map prospect workflows and tech dependencies to Amplitude differentiation
• Present ROI narratives to C-level executives
• Mentor junior SEs on positioning and demos
