Job summary

Accura Engineering in Atlanta, GA seeks a Sr. Construction Inspector to lead field inspections on roadway and bridge projects. You will monitor daily construction, document deficiencies, and ensure compliance with plans, specs, and CQAP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field with 3 years of roadway/bridge inspection experience.
• Associate degree with 8 years of roadway/bridge inspection experience.
• High school diploma with 15 years of roadway/bridge inspection experience as OV.
• Experience in transportation construction inspection including heavy civil and bridges.
• Thorough knowledge of specs, standards, materials, methods, and equipment.
• Ability to read complex construction plans and reports.
• Ability to work independently and make field decisions.
• Commitment to safety in construction environments.
• Valid US driver's license and pass MVR.

Responsibilities

• Identify and document deficiencies in roadway/bridge construction; communicate adjustments for contract compliance.
• Conduct daily site visits to monitor work, ensure materials/workmanship meet specs.
• Provide mentorship and review junior team members' work for QA and best practices.
• Provide specialized inspections and written reports for bridge construction and OV activities.
• Supervise junior technicians performing OV audits and inspections.
• Serve as SME on Developer activities, including remediation and repair reviews.
• Monitor on-site construction activities and inspect materials per plans and specs.
• Perform QA sampling/testing verification under CQAP.
• Attend pre-activity meetings with Developer and IQF.
• Coordinate with IQF to resolve issues; ensure timely QA data entry.
• Ensure material certification for Final Acceptance.
• Perform contract administrative duties and maintain required documentation.
