Job summary

Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Construction Inspector in Atlanta, GA to proactively identify deficiencies in roadway and bridge construction and ensure compliance with contract specs.

You will conduct daily site visits, mentor junior staff, and provide specialized bridge inspections and QA reports. The role requires independent decision-making, strong math and plan-reading skills, and a valid US driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology with 3+ years of progressive roadway and bridge inspection experience; or
• Associate degree with 8+ years of progressive roadway and bridge inspection experience; or
• High school diploma with 15+ years of progressive roadway and bridge inspection experience as OV for a State Highway Agency; or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Proactively identify and document deficiencies in roadway and bridge construction and communicate adjustments for contract compliance.
• Conduct daily site visits to monitor work-in-progress and ensure materials and workmanship meet project specs.
• Mentor and review work of junior team members to ensure QA and best practices.
• Provide specialized inspections and written reports for bridge construction and OV activities.
• Supervise junior technicians performing OV audits and inspections.
• Act as SME on Developer activities including remediation and repair reviews.
• Inspect Developer on-site activities and materials entering the work per plans and specs.
• Oversee sampling/testing in CQAP and document results for QA purposes.
• Coordinate with IQF and GDOT to resolve issues and ensure timely QA data entry.
• Attend pre-activity meetings with Developer and IQF; monitor progress and discrepancies.
