Job summary

Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Construction Inspector to lead site inspections in Atlanta, GA, and ensure compliance with contract specs. The role requires supervising junior staff, producing detailed bridge and OV reports, and guiding field decisions with safety priority.

You will monitor construction progress, review plans, and coordinate with IQF to resolve discrepancies, while maintaining CQAP-aligned data and documentation for Final Acceptance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 3 years of roadway/bridge inspection experience or an equivalent combination.
• Associate degree with 8 years of progressive roadway/bridge inspection experience.
• High school diploma with 15 years in roadway/bridge inspection as OV or employee.
• Experience in transportation construction inspection for heavy civil, bridges, and roadways.
• Knowledge of specs/standards, materials, methods, and equipment used in highway/bridge work.
• Ability to read and interpret complex construction plans and reports.
• Ability to work independently and make field decisions, with safety as a priority.

Responsibilities

• Identify and document deficiencies in roadway and bridge construction and communicate adjustments.
• Conduct daily site visits to monitor work-in-progress for conformance to specs.
• Mentor junior team members and review work for QA and best practices.
• Provide specialized inspections and written reports for bridge construction and OV activities.
• Supervise junior technicians performing OV audits and inspections.
• Act as SME on Developer activities including remediation and repair reviews.
• Monitor on-site construction activities and inspect materials per plans and provisions.
• Perform oversight inspection and verify materials sampling and testing per CQAP.
• Ensure sampling/testing aligns with CQAP and project schedule.
• Attend pre-activity meetings with Developer Contractors and IQF.
• Monitor progress, quality, and discrepancies; coordinate with IQF to resolve issues.
• Ensure IQF inputs QA materials data into the Materials database on time.
• Verify material certification requirements for Final Acceptance.
• Perform contract administration duties and maintain required documentation.
