Job summary

Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. seeks a Sr. Construction Inspector to oversee bridge and roadway construction in the Atlanta area. You will perform proactive inspections, document deficiencies, and coordinate with IQF and the Developer to ensure compliance with plans, specs, and CQAP.

The role requires extensive field experience, ability to work independently, mentor junior technicians, and maintain thorough reports while ensuring safety and quality across projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology with 3 years of road/bridge inspection.
• Associate degree with 8 years of inspection experience.
• High school diploma with 15 years of inspection experience.
• Experience in transportation construction inspection incl heavy civil, bridge, roadway.
• Thorough knowledge of specs, standards, materials, methods and equipment.
• Proficient in algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.
• Experience reading complex construction plans and reports (BFI, pile driving).
• Ability to work independently and in the field.
• Safety-focused approach in construction environments.
• Valid US Driver’s License and pass MVR.

Responsibilities

• Proactively identify and document deficiencies in roadway/bridge work and communicate adjustments.
• Conduct daily site visits to monitor progress, ensuring materials/workmanship meet specs.
• Mentor junior team members; review work for QA and best practices.
• Provide inspections and written reports for bridge construction and OV activities.
• Supervise junior technicians performing OV audits and inspections.
• Act as SME on Developer activities including remediation and repairs.
• Monitor on-site Developer activity and inspect materials per plans and provisions.
• Perform oversight and verification of materials sampling/testing per CQAP.
• Ensure sampling/testing progress aligns with CQAP and project schedules.
• Attend pre-activity meetings with Developer and IQF; coordinate resolutions.
• Coordinate with IQF to resolve issues; ensure QA data entered timely.
• Ensure material certification requirements for Final Acceptance.
• Perform contract admin duties and maintain documentation.
