Job summary

Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. seeks a Sr. Construction Inspector to lead field inspections of roadway and bridge work in Atlanta, GA. The role focuses on identifying deficiencies, ensuring compliance with contract specs, and mentoring junior team members.

The candidate will perform QA/QC reviews, prepare written reports, and act as SME for Developer activities. Travel to site locations and occasional night work may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology with 3 years of roadway and bridge inspection experience; or
• Associate degree with 8 years of inspection experience; or
• High school diploma with 15 years of inspection experience as OV for a State Highway Agency.

Responsibilities

• Identify deficiencies in roadway and bridge construction and communicate adjustments for contract compliance.
• Conduct daily site visits to monitor work-in-progress and verify material/workmanship per specs.
• Mentor junior team members and review their work for QA/QC.
• Provide inspections and reports for bridge construction and OV activities.
• Supervise junior technicians performing OV audits and inspections.
• Act as SME on Developer activities, including remediation reviews.
• Monitor on-site construction and inspect materials per plans, specs, and provisions.
• Oversee sampling/testing verification under CQAP and project schedules.
• Attend pre-activity meetings with Developer's Contractor and IQF.
• Coordinate with IQF to resolve quality issues and ensure timely QA data entry.
• Ensure material certification requirements are met for Final Acceptance.
• Perform contract admin duties and maintain documentation.
