Job summary

Accura Engineering is seeking a Sr. Construction Inspector for Atlanta, GA project sites. The position requires proactive identification of deficiencies in roadway and bridge construction, daily site visits, and ensuring compliance with contract specifications.

You will mentor junior staff, provide SME guidance on Developer activities, and produce detailed inspection reports. The role involves supervising OV audits, coordinating with IQF, and overseeing materials testing in line with the CQAP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology with progressive roadway/bridge inspection experience.
• Associate degree plus eight years of inspection experience.
• High school diploma plus fifteen years of inspection experience in highway projects.
• Experience in transportation construction inspection including heavy civil, bridge and roadway projects.
• Knowledge of specifications, standards, materials, methods, and equipment used in highway and bridge construction.
• Ability to read and interpret complex construction plans and reports.
• Experience working independently and making field decisions with safety as a priority.

Responsibilities

• Identify and document deficiencies in roadway and bridge construction and communicate adjustments.
• Conduct daily site visits to monitor progress and ensure compliance with specs.
• Mentor junior team members and review their work for QA and best practices.
• Provide specialized inspections and written reports for bridge construction and OV activities.
• Supervise junior technicians performing OV audits and inspections.
• Act as SME on Developer activities, including remediation and repair reviews.
• Monitor on-site construction activities and inspect materials per plans and specifications.
• Oversee sampling and testing in accordance with CQAP and project schedules.
• Ensure material certification and Final Acceptance requirements are met.
• Perform contract administration and maintain required documentation.
