Job summary

Axon is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to own the design, development, and validation of complex electrical systems for mission-critical, connected hardware. As a founding member of our hardware team, you will shape the technical architecture and drive hardware objectives to completion.

You'll work across schematics design, RF coexistence, mechanical integration, and bring-up/testing, with travel up to 50% and a hybrid onsite role at our Boston hub or others.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of embedded electronics design experience and a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related discipline.
• PCB design and layout, RF integration and coexistence, mechanical integration, and hardware bring-up/debugging for highly integrated devices.
• Experience across embedded subsystems, including processors, microcontrollers, high-speed memory, power delivery, wireless/RF integration, and high-speed interfaces.
• Proven experience taking electronics from concept through schematic and PCB design, verification, certification, manufacturing ramp, and mass production.
• Strong understanding of RF coexistence and interference across cellular bands with SI/PI/EMC considerations.
• Hands-on experience with Cadence OrCAD and Allegro, plus oscilloscopes and RF test equipment.
• Experience designing rigid, flex, or rigid-flex PCBs within tight form-factor constraints.
• Experience meeting U.S. and international hardware, wireless, and safety standards.
• Collaborating across design partners, ODMs/JDMs, and distributed teams.
• Travel domestically up to 50% to support the team.

Responsibilities

• Electrical & Board Design: develop mixed-signal schematics and drive PCB layout across processors, RF transceivers, power, and high-speed interfaces.
• RF Integration & Coexistence: design and validate RF systems across wireless technologies and ensure EMC/interference control.
• Mechanical Integration: collaborate with Mechanical and Industrial Design to optimize layout and antenna integration.
• Bring-Up & Debugging: bring up and troubleshoot hardware with test equipment and measurements.
• Production Readiness: drive BOMs, documentation, verification, and readiness from concept to mass production.
• Technical Leadership: provide direction to engineering teams and external partners to complete hardware objectives.
