Job summary

RTX’s Effector RF Design department in Tucson, AZ, seeks a highly skilled Principal RF Sensor Responsible Engineering Authority for advanced missile programs. You will drive subsystem requirements, model designs, and support integration and testing, collaborating with suppliers and RTX teams to ensure mission-ready RF sensors.

This onsite role offers opportunities for leadership, innovation in RF technologies, and relocation assistance for eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 8+ years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with 6+ years.
• Experience with RF hardware development (antennas, CCAs, subsystems).
• Experience working with suppliers to develop complex hardware.
• Ability to obtain interim clearance before start.
• Experience with missile systems or defense RF products is valued.

Responsibilities

• Oversee supplier development of RF sensors and measurement equipment.
• Coordinate design reviews and hardware acceptance.
• Identify risks and mitigations for RF sensor development.
• Support lab testing and field test events.
• Travel to supplier for reviews once every 1–2 months.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with program leadership.
