Job summary

RTX Corporation in Tucson, AZ seeks a Senior RF Sensor Responsible Engineering Authority to drive RF subsystem design, modeling, and test support for advanced missile programs. You will lead supplier collaboration, manage technical data reviews, and mitigate risks across hardware development.

The role requires RF hardware experience, DoD-style processes, and the ability to travel to suppliers. On-site work in Tucson with eligibility for a security clearance and DoD clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 5+ years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with 3+ years.
• Experience with RF hardware development (antennas or CCAs and subsystems).
• Experience with suppliers or subcontractors to develop complex hardware.
• Demonstrated product or task ownership.
• Experience interpreting engineering requirements and verifying hardware compliance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee supplier development of RF sensors and measurement equipment.
• Serve as a liaison between the supplier and program, ensuring tech, cost and schedule alignment.
• Coordinate stakeholder reviews of technical data, proposed design changes, and hardware acceptance.
• Identify, document, and communicate risks and mitigations for RF sensor development.
• Support lab testing, field test events, and root-cause failure analysis for RF sensors.
• Maintain artifacts such as requirements documents, HUM, SSOW.
• Process variances for hardware noncompliance and deviations from the TDP.
• Travel regularly to the supplier for reviews and meetings (1–2 months cadence).
• Collaborate with program leadership, management, suppliers, and customers.
• Build and leverage cross-functional networks to solve technical challenges.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical excellence.
