Job summary

RTX is seeking a Principal RF Sensor Responsible Engineering Authority for advanced missile programs in Tucson, AZ. You will lead RF sensor hardware development, drive subsystem requirements, and coordinate with suppliers to ensure performance and compliance.

This onsite role offers opportunities to mentor engineers and influence cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate has 8+ years in RF hardware or radar-related roles, with strong leadership and collaboration skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) with 8+ years of experience, or an advanced degree with 6+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with electrical hardware development (RF components such as antennas or CCAs).
• Experience working with suppliers or subcontractors to develop complex hardware.
• Experience with product or task ownership.
• Experience interpreting engineering requirements and verifying hardware compliance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee supplier development of RF sensors and measurement equipment.
• Act as liaison between supplier and program ensuring technical, cost, and schedule alignment.
• Coordinate stakeholder reviews of technical data, proposed design changes, and hardware acceptance.
• Identify and communicate risks and mitigations for RF sensor development.
• Support lab testing, field tests, and root-cause failure analysis for RF sensors.
• Maintain artifacts such as requirements documents, HUM, and SSOW.
• Process variances for hardware noncompliance and deviations from the TDP.
• Travel regularly to suppliers for reviews and meetings (monthly).
• Collaborate with program leadership, management, suppliers, and customers.
• Mentor junior engineers and drive technical excellence across the organization.
