Job summary

Eataly in Los Angeles is seeking a Senior Host who will greet guests, seat them, and manage the flow of the dining room during service. You will maintain an accurate waitlist, escort guests to tables, introduce servers, and support servers and bus staff to ensure a smooth operation from open to close.

You will train new host hires, handle OpenTable reservations, relay VIP details to management, and coordinate with events to maximize walk-ins while protecting reservation space.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience in a high-volume restaurant.
• Basic computer skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Availability to work onsite with a flexible schedule often including evenings and weekends.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours, including standing, walking, bending and squatting.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and seat them, ensuring smooth flow of service.
• Maintain an accurate waitlist and seating chart using a computerized system.
• Inform guests when tables are ready and escort to table, introducing the server.
• Take reservations and balance walk-ins with reserved space.
• Assist with server and bus staff to maintain service effectiveness.
• Train new host hires on floor plans, OpenTable features and hospitality standards.
• Relay important reservation details to management each shift and coordinate with events.
