Job summary

Eataly in San Jose, CA is seeking a Senior Host to welcome guests, seat them promptly, and maintain the dining flow during service. You will train new hosts, manage OpenTable bookings, and ensure guest satisfaction from arrival to departure.

The role requires a friendly, organized hospitality mindset, with availability to work onsite on a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends. Compensation ranges hourly with tips.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in a high-volume restaurant.
• Basic computer skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet and seat guests and manage waitlists.
• Train new host hires and use OpenTable features.
• Communicate reservation details to management.
• Maintain restaurant appearance and seating charts.
• Oversee seating for AM/PM shifts and adjust timelines.
• Assist with events and private bookings.
• Balance guest flow and inform guests when tables are ready.
• Perform other duties as required.
