Job summary

WSP is seeking a Lead Renewable Energy Electrical Engineer for our Houston, TX office. The role involves leading design and execution of large-scale renewable energy projects, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring compliance with codes and project goals.

You will guide data analyses, substation layouts, and protection schemes across multiple sites. You will develop plans, mentor engineers, interface with clients and regulators, and oversee safety, scheduling, and budget

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering with 7–10 years post-education experience.
• Professional engineer license required.
• Strong knowledge of electrical infrastructure design and related regulations.
• Experience with design software and cross-disciplinary coordination.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and execution of renewable energy electrical infrastructure projects.
• Coordinate multi-site due diligence, permitting, and construction activities.
• Develop, review, and optimize single-line and substation layouts and protection schemes.
• Ensure compliance with IEEE, NESC, ANSI, NERC standards and local codes.
• Mentor junior engineers and manage cross-functional teams and budgets.
• Prepare technical reports, cost estimates, and project documentation.
