Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Lead Renewable Energy Electrical Engineer to join our team in the US, with initial focus in Houston, TX and options for Boulder, CO; Buffalo, NY; or Austin, TX. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 7 to 10 years of post-education experience as an electrical engineer providing design deliverables for capital projects in power generation, transmission, and distribution at utility, industrial, or commercial scale.
• Engineer license required.
• Proficient with electrical engineering principles, practices, process, design/build, and permitting.
• Extensive knowledge of infrastructure design.
• Well-developed ability to apply electrical engineering principles to regulations and plans.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance with data collection, analysis, and pricing for design packages and compliance with IEEE, NESC, ANSI, and NERC standards.
• Coordinate and approve electrical infrastructure design plans for smaller projects, ensuring data integrity and code compliance.
• Apply high-level techniques to identify improvements across project phases from concept to operation.
• Prepare and review electrical diagrams, substations layouts, grounding, and protection schemes.
• Lead cross-functional teams and manage budgets, scheduling, and QA/QC.
